The E-BAKAT program, run by the Armed Forces Family Welfare Agency (BAKAT), is
set to benefit over 12,000 military personnel’s wives. The program’s first
phase, which will commence soon, focuses on developing an online training
platform. The second phase will involve an “e-market place” platform. General
Tan Sri Affendi Buang, the Commander of the Armed Forces, stated that 100
participants were involved in the first phase, and to date, 1,000 BAKAT members
have shown interest in the program.
The program aims to increase the family’s
income source and serve as a ‘second career’ for retiring members. The success
of the program depends on its technical success and financial resources. The
E-BAKAT initiative, part of the BAKAT Transformation Program: Second Direction -
Family Economic Development, aims to enhance BAKAT members’ skills and
knowledge, molding them into successful entrepreneurs through systematic
planning and platforms.
“This MOU signing between MGATE Emerging Technologies marks a significant
milestone in our journey towards empowering our military families. Through the
E-BAKAT program, we are not just providing a platform for learning and economic
growth, but also fostering a community of successful entrepreneurs. Together, we
are building a stronger, more resilient future.” – Faizal Shebli
